Covered in Pet Fur

Just finished my first book in the new year! Covered in Pet Fur: How to Start an Animal Rescue the Right Way by Stacey Ritz and Amy Beatty. It is a nonfiction look into how to start and run a successful nonprofit animal rescue.

Stacey and Amy use their experience from starting Advocates 4 Animals to write a great "how to" on non profit animal rescue. Though there is no simple answer in how to start a nonprofit their chapters are broken down into a way that teaches you everything that goes into a nonprofit and things that they found helped them over 20 years of experience.

For anyone that is an animal advocate this is a great read. For those that want to help but just have no clue where to start this is a great peek into the animal rescue world. For those that are already running rescues and just want to learn how to be more successful in saving more lives, this is a great read. Even if you are a nonprofit in other areas this can be a good read since some of the chapters you can just replace animal rescue with just about anything else you are passionate about.
